What is Prostaglandin, and why you should avoid it at All Costs?

Eyelash growth serums on the market have increased dramatically in popularity over recent years, as more and more women are looking to maximize the beauty and fullness of their eyelashes. However, before making the decision and investment in a lash growth serum it is important to understand some of the drawbacks that coincide with a number of commercial products available on the market today.

Prostaglandin is a popular ingredient used in these eyelash growth serums, and recent studies have proven its effectiveness in increasing the fullness and strength of eyelashes. Unfortunately, the chemical itself has also been proven to be dangerous and comes along with a number of side effects that we should all be trying to avoid. Essentially, Prostaglandin originated as a treatment for glaucoma until it was discovered that eyelash re-growth was an unintentional side effect of the treatment.

It all sounds beneficial and positive, but the benefits of using the chemical on your eyelashes are often far outweighed by the cons that coincide. In fact, prostaglandin has not been approved by the FDA for that very reason. While products and mascaras with the chemical as an ingredient can give you fuller lashes, they certainly do not improve the overall health of your eyelashes and eyes. On the flipside of the coin, it has been shown that Prostaglandin can actually darken the eyelids over time and in the worst case scenarios it can change the color of the iris within your eyes.

Seeing as there are suitable natural alternatives when it comes to eyelash growth serums, the risk involved with using a product that contains Prostaglandin is simply not worth it.

 Ask yourself this.

Is it really worth it to risk your eyesight, or possibly have the iris within your eyes change color when you can find an affordable, natural, and safe alternative that brings about the same positive results?

 Definitely not.

While looking your very best is important, it is not worth risking your overall health by any means.
